Being connected helps your business. Customers come back when they feel a special connection with your team. If people feel you care about them, they will do business with you. If they like you, they will do business with you. If they think you are like them, they will do business with you.

Prosperity

The problem with prosperity is that it is defined too narrowly. We use success and the list of synonyms to replace prosperity when they do not do justice to the actual meaning of prosperity. Sure, prosperity embodies money, wealth, income, security, savings, health, family, and friends. But, love is also a word that is used to define prosperity. So, prosperity is not just about wealth; it is a balanced that includes deep and committed human relationships.

Valuing Integrity

On a personal level, people of integrity have a stronger moral compass. They keep their word, take full responsibility for their actions, and hold fast to their moral codes, even if it sometimes means winding up in uncomfortable situations or having to make tough decisions.

Overusing “I Understand”

The problem is that it is impossible to actually “understand” from a one-time explanation. How could you think you understand a problem without living through the entire process? We are all relational people. As much as we are looking for advice, we are also looking for empathy when confronted with a problem. We want someone to listen and help rationalize what we have done. We want someone to evaluate our process through a conversation and legitimize what we have done so far.

Waiting

One perception of a business model is creating and capturing value in a market and then sustaining it into the future. You develop a product, find and market to buy it, and then continue to supply it for as long as you can. For example, you invent the buggy whip, find buggy owners who will buy it, and then produce the buggy whip until the Model T car is invented.
In this process, you are waiting for two events. One is the buyers to start buying. And the second is for the buyers to stop buying.

Free Stuff

The Bible clearly and repeatedly tells us that we are already set free in Christ and that we need to live this freedom out for His glory. This truth can be found in almost all of the New Testament, giving all of us Christians the strength and instruction that we need to live our lives to love God and bring God’s love to those who He loves.

Sacred Conversations

“Conversation” is our communicating with another person. And as part of that conversation is the transmission of thoughts and ideas. That is the part where we find the sacred. What makes the thoughts and ideas we communicate sacred is the value we place on what we discuss. The conversation is authentic, sincere, and trusted.

Given this upheaval, you may be surprised to learn that we are coming off a decade that has been historically good for employer-employee relations. Research by Gallup highlighted in a Feb. 4, 2020 article by Jim Harter, “4 Factors Driving Record-High Employee Engagement in U.S.” found that employee engagement grew from 28 to 35% since the year 2010.
