Happy Good Friday. And most importantly, Happy Easter (this coming Sunday). I think as business leaders we often miss the opportunities the Easter holiday provides.

The bane of many small businesses is the annual employee performance reviews. My business is no different in that each fall when I mention we will be passing out performance review folders to my managers, the groan can be heard for miles around.

Are you reluctant to take a vacation from work? Is it because you feel your business cannot get along without you? Or, is the extra effort required before and after the vacation does not counterbalance the enjoyment of the vacation? Current studies are overwhelmingly demonstrating that you and your business benefit from your vacation.

Baseball is considered by many to be the greatest American sport. It is played on a field the shape of a diamond, which differentiates it from all the other rectangular shaped sport’s fields (soccer, football, tennis, etc.). Two teams play against each other, and there is no time clock, only a few disputes, and a lot of emotion. And if you are a true fan, there is a game to watch nearly every day of the season.
